I love to travel. A lot of people do. But sometimes it’s easy to overlook gems in your own neighborhood that are worth a visit … or two. One such gem is the Hawk Gallery. Located in downtown Columbus, this magical space holds some of the world’s most beautiful glass creations. Currently … and please … PLEASE hurry and go … because the exhibit closes after September 28th … is the work of the Venice, Italy genius Lino Tagliapietra.  American master Dale Chihuly calls him without a doubt “the best glass artist in the world”. And the Columbus Museum of Art is honored to have his “Endeavor” instillation as a part of their collection.

I am simply presenting a collage slideshow of the elegant work of Mr. Tagliapietra here. Each piece has a name and researching The Hawk Gallery’s website will give you more information and insight than I am able. But please try to see this in person. (I’ve seen it twice and might go back again.) My photos are pretty good but do not do justice to the timeless, fragile beauty of each piece. Make sure to take the time to watch the video … playing in the back of the gallery … about Lino Tagliapietra as well as wander the gallery.
